The children went to NEWA and participated in a variety of different competitive activities alongside other schools. The children tried their best and represented Elston Hall School well. We came 3rd and the children all received a bronze medal which they were very proud of.
The cross country competition was at Aldersely Stadium and many primary schools took part. There was a girls' relay race followed by a boys' relay race and our school came first in both! The children were chosen from our school cross country club and they also received specialised training from a coach from Wolves and Bilston AC. Well done!
Year 5 and 6 athletics team came 2nd in the regional sportshall athletics competition and will be competing at the Black Country Finals.
On a mild October afternoon Elston Hall Primary took four teams of excited runners to compete in the mixed relays at Aldersley Stadium. The children were to run just over 1200m on a very muddy track, through trees and fields. As this was a mixed relay race the first leg was ran by the girls; they ran a fantastic lap gaining us two top positions. The second leg was ran by the boys ; they powered through until the very end with some fantastic sprint finishes maintaining our positions. The third lap was back to the girls and finally the last leg was ran by the boys. It was fantastic to see our children really show what they had trained so hard for. For those that had competed before they showed a great improvement and those that were competing for the first time really gave it their all and put their training into practice. As always our children showed excellent sportsmanship to their team and the other schools and demonstrated the outstanding behaviour of Elston Hall. We came away with gold medals for first position, which also won us the W.A.S.P shield which will have our school name engraved, and bronze medals for third position too! It was a successful evening and we are incredibly proud of our children and their achievement.
Elston Hall 'Funky Feet' dance group entered their first competition - The Big Dance Off 2015. The children travelled to Birmingham and competed in the West Midlands heats, performing their colourful and energetic circus routine to 'Come Follow the Band'.

This produced the highest overall team score and Elston Hall were crowned Wolverhampton Primary Schools winners!
On 10th March Elston Hall children competed in an individuals race here at Elston Hall. We competed against five other schools, the girls ran first and secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position! The boys ran second and secured 1st and 3rd position. All children ran extremely well resulting in Elston Hall winning the over all team medal!
On 19th March we competed in the county championship race at Aldersly against 30 other schools which meant there were over 100 children in each race. Elston hall had 6 out of our 8 runners in the top ten, which meant those children went on to represent Wolverhampton. Overall Elston Hall came 4th in both the boys and the girls team, missing out on third by a few points.
On a freezing Saturday morning the Elston Hall cross country team were out in force. Running a 1000 metre relay, against 25 other schools, each child would run a lap of the slippery muddy field!
The girls went home with a bronze medal. A fantastic victory! Then the boys began their race. The final lap was taken by a Year 5 boy who finished hot on the heels of the team in first position, ensuring the boys went home with a silver medal. Another great victory for Elston Hall.
We kicked off to a good start! The first football game of the season saw Elston Hall beat Berrybrook 4-3, away from home!
