We use a variety of reading schemes at Elston Hall Primary School. A reading scheme is a structured and levelled set of books written specifically to ensure that your child can take steady and progressive steps towards reading success. At Elston Hall we are also mindful of the need to support wider reading and reading for pleasure. Therefore we dedicate time within the timetable for regular guided reading sessions. In addition, we encourage children to read at home frequently, and provide a diary for home/school communication.
We have a school library and a Book Fair is held every term. Parents are invited to join their children to browse the books on offer and help make choices. In the Spring Term we celebrate World Book Day.
