Elston Hall athletics team made it through to the Wolverhampton City Final!
At the Final the top 8 schools out of 77 schools across Wolverhampton competed together in various track and field events.
Out of the 8 teams Elston Hall finished in 3rd place, winning bronze medals. Well done to our athletics team and I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone that came to support us. This means that we will now represent our borough at the 2018 Black Country School Games Festival in June.
Elston Hall had a huge success at the Sports Hall Athletics. Two teams represented Elston Hall where they competed with other schools across Wolverhampton. The children enjoyed a various of activities.
One of our teams came 5th and the other team came first place. This means they will now go through and compete at the City Finals in January. Well done to both teams and thank you for representing our school.

Firstly a massive well done to the netball team who represented Elston Hall in our second match. We knew we were up for a tough game against Palmers Cross as they are an established team who have been playing together for over a year. Palmers got off to a great start and were 2-0 up by the end of the first quarter. During the second quarter Elston fought hard, there was lots of interceptions by both teams and at the end of the quarter it was 3-2 to Palmers. Goals were scored for Elston by Alfie and Jewell. After another swap of positions, the 3rd quarter was a difficult one and the experience of Palmers team began to show as they pulled ahead with the quarter ending 6-2 to Palmers. The final quarter was a great battle. The players were up and down the court and all battled well. The final score was Palmers 7 Elston 2.

We got off to a fantastic start and after the first quarter we were drawing 1-1. After a quick change of positions – there is a strict rotation system to follow in High 5 netball – both teams were neck and neck. By the end of this quarter Wilkinson were just ahead 5-4. Another position swap and this quarter involved lots of play in the centre third. Both teams made lots of interceptions and after a hard fought 6 minutes, the quarter ended Elston 5 Wilkinson 7. Following a quick breather, the final quarter began. Wilkinson took a bit of lead but the Elston Team fought hard and the final score was Elston 7 Wilkinson 9.
A huge well done to the girls who represented us in our first netball match, they all behaved impeccably. Mrs Tromans and Miss Fellows were extremely proud of you.
We had a great day at Ormiston NEW Academy! Our team of 8 children (4 boys and 4 girls) came 3rd place after competing against other schools across Wolverhampton.
We took 7 teams altogether to Aldersley to compete in a cross country competition. Some of the children had never been part of the team before and everyone did really well. We were really proud of them all! There were some amazing runners from all schools. A big congratulations to the mixed team relays who won their race!
