Children at Elston Hall have been busy planning and making fantastic bird feeders as part of our bird feeder bonanza competition. Take a look at some of the amazing bird feeder entries.
A winner from each Key Stage will be chosen later in the week!
This term School Council have decided to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society which is a charity that is united against all forms of Dementia.
On Friday 15th June, we will be supporting Alzheimer’s Society by celebrating Cupcake Day. This will be an exciting day for children allowing them to fundraise to help and support others.
We would welcome children to bring in baked items such as cupcakes, biscuits, cookies and smaller cakes (shop bought or homemade – the choice is yours!) to be sold on the day. Any bakes will have a suggested donation of 20p for smaller bakes and 50p for larger bakes. All the money raised will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Society to enable them to continue their fight against Dementia.
We are hoping to post a blog for Year 6's stay at Brecon Beacons. At this stage we do not know how good the Wi-Fi connection will be, but at the very least we are hoping that the children will be able to share photographs of their activities on our website.
We hope that you will access our website during Year 6’s stay to see what they have been able to achieve in keeping you posted about the children’s activities.
Find the blog by clicking 'read the blog' on the homepage photo of Brecon Beacons when it scrolls round, or select 'Year Group Information' on the Homepage and select Year 6.
Children were able to develop a greater understanding of their immediate environment and local area by visiting the local shops. They walked in small groups to a local shop to buy some fruit and vegetables. Children have been encouraged to develop a greater awareness of the different roles that people have and how they effect us.
All staff wish you a great half term holiday and look forward to seeing the children safely back at school on Monday 4th June.
The children had a wonderful time dancing and singing the evening away! Even the teachers could 'floss' by the end of the night!
The children were very lucky to have a special guest on our school gates this morning. Stryda the mascot for Walk to School came to celebrate how well Elston Hall have been doing at walking to school. This is a great project where children earn badges for just walking to school.
In celebration of Prince Harry's and Meghan Markle's wedding the children have participated in a variety of 'wedding' activities. Many of these activities are closely linked to our R.E curriculum.
Here are a few photos from the day.
