We hope you are having a lovely half term break and we look forward to seeing the children safely back in school on Monday 3rd June.
Year 6 enjoying a well deserved day at Drayton Manor after SATs Week!
Congratulations to the Year 3 and 4 Tri golf team who won the Tri golf competition at Ormiston New Academy. The children will now go through to the finals at Penn Golf club. The team played amazingly well and completed a range of activity stations based around chipping, putting and accuracy. Well done to all the children that represented our school fantastically well.
On Monday and Tuesday we went on our trip to Weston Park as part of our Victorians topic. We had a fantastic day that was filled with activities. First, we made our very own cup and ball that we decorated with bright colours. After that, we went on a walk around the grounds and saw Weston Hall. We saw a stone pineapple at the entrance and learnt that the Victorians often had pineapples around their homes to show people how wealthy they were. Next we played with Victorian toys outside, there were wooden hoops, skipping ropes, croquet, wooden skittles and quoits. Lunchtime came and we all ate our food together in the hall. In the afternoon, we dressed up in Victorian clothes, played with Victorian toys and learnt about Victorian nurseries. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day!
Congratulations to the Year 3 and 4 five-a-side team!
A squad of 7 players competed in the five-a-side tournament at Compton Park (Wolves training ground) The team won 3 and drew one match to finish second in their league. They played Christ Church in the quarter finals. Unfortunately, after a quick start from Christ Church they took the lead. Elston Hall played well and had two very close chances. Christ Church went on to score two more goals. Final score was 3:0 to Christ Church. The team played very well and represented the school fantastically. Well done!
Player of the tournament for Elston was Alfie H, who scored two super goals.
Nursery would like to thank all the parents for attending our writing workshop. We are pleased that you found it helpful, informative and fun to share time with your child in the nursery setting. We look forward to working together to help develop your children's writing skills.
