We hope that you and your children have had a very half term break, and we would like to welcome everyone back to the second half of the autumn term.
The Autumn term is always a busy time for children in Year 3 with lots of learning taking place. In our Science work, we will be studying “Animals including Humans”, our Geography learning will concentrate on “Europe” and our DT planning will focus on “Healthy Eating”. History is taught chronologically so we will be learning about The Stone Age, which will link nicely to cave painting in Art. English and Mathematics will continue to be taught daily and focus on key writing skills and mathematical calculations.

Please can we remind parents that no jewellery should be worn in school with the exception of stud earrings, and in line with Health and Safety guidelines these should not be worn on PE days. Children may be asked to remove earrings before PE sessions.
Year 3 PE sessions are:
Class 10 – Tuesday and Thursday
Class 11 – Wednesday and Friday
Class 12 - Wednesday and Thursday
Please ensure that children have the correct PE kit in school at all times. PE kits can be purchased from the school office. Water bottles are also available at a cost of 20p each. We will continue with morning toast up until close of register and should you wish, children can bring a piece of fruit to school for their morning snack.
Children in Year 3 receive regular homework: purple creative homework books will be continued and spellings will be given out on a Friday and tested on the following Thursday.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your class teacher, who will usually be available at the end of each day, We anticipate a busy and exciting term and we thank you in anticipation of your continued support.
