We hope that you and your children have had a very enjoyable half term break, and we would like to welcome everyone back to the second half of the autumn term.
Please click on the link below for the powerpoint from the parents meeting on 27th November about Year 4's residential to Conwy.
The Autumn term is always a busy time for children in Year 4 with lots of new learning taking place. In our Science work we will be studying “Sound”, our Geography learning will concentrate on “Asia” and our DT planning will focus on “Healthy Eating”. History is taught chronologically so we will be learning about the Anglo Saxons which will link nicely to Anglo Saxon painting in Art. English and Mathematics will continue to be taught daily and focus on key writing skills and mathematical calculations.

Please can we remind parents that no jewellery should be worn in school with the exception of stud earrings, and in line with Health and Safety guidelines these should not be worn on PE days. Children may be asked to remove earrings before PE sessions.
Year 4 PE sessions are:
Class 13 – Wednesday and Thursday
Class 14 – Wednesday and Thursday
Class 15 – Tuesday and Friday
Please ensure that children have the correct PE kit in school at all times; PE kits can be purchased from the school office. Water bottles are also available at a cost of 20p each. We will continue with morning toast up until close of register and should you wish, children can bring a piece of fruit to school for their morning snack.
Children in Year 4 receive regular homework: purple creative homework books will be continued and spellings will be given out on Friday and tested on the following Thursday.
To provide you with as much information as possible, we have included a copy of your child’s timetable. This gives a brief outline of your child’s day, but should be viewed as a guide only, as it is often necessary to change lessons as circumstances within school dictate.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your class teacher, who will usually be available at the end of each day. We anticipate a busy and exciting term ahead and we thank you in anticipation of your continued support.
Children really enjoyed meeting the staff from Fallings Park Fire station.
They were taught what how to safely evacuate a building, how to report a fire, the dangers of hoax calls and the importance of fire safety.
Thomas enjoyed learning about 'stop, drop and roll' and said "I enjoyed this because I learnt how to live longer if I caught on fire."
Georgie enjoyed learning about how to keep safe if her house caught on fire. "If a fire ever does happen, I now know what to do."
Year 4 had a fantastic day at Tamworth Castle. For more details click on 'About Us' on the Homepage and select 'educational visits'.
