School Councillors and Deputies had a fantastic day out at Mount Pleasant School Farm today. They received a warm welcome from Idris, Nina and Nicky and they immediately got to work!
Group 1 were in charge of prepping the vegetable soup for lunch learning how to use the 'claw' and 'bridge' grip when chopping carrots, leeks, tomatoes, onions, runner beans and cabbages. Group 2 were in charge of prepping the fruit salad for pudding which included chopping strawberries, grapes, apples, pears, pineapples and many more! Teachers and children absolutely loved lunch and even asked for seconds!
Throughout the day, children enjoyed spending time with each other and feeding the sheep and chickens. They loved meeting Perky the pig and all of the cows in the barn. They even saw a calf only a few hours old!
Everyone had a brilliant time and the staff at the farm even said that our children are a credit to our school. Well done school councillors!
