Joe Roebuck Visit

Updated: Nov 20, 2023

What a great sporty day welcoming our visitor Joe Roebuck into school. The aim of the event was to inspire the children to be more physically active, but just as importantly, encourage them to discover and pursue their passion in life. We also took part in a sponsored fitness circuit to raise money to improve physical activity in school as well as supporting athletes and para-athletes so they can continue to inspire the next generation.

Harrison Ault, one of our sports ambassadors wrote a summary of the day:

On Monday (13th) Joe Roebuck (a swimmer for Great Britain)came to our school to tell us about his career. He also did some exercises with us; spotty dog, mountain climbers/ leg drives, star jumps and push ups. Later that day, we were in an assembly when he showed us his great awards e.g. trophies and medals. He told us what he did as a kid, he woke up at 4am! He got dressed and went to swimming practise. When he finished swimming practise he went to school. After school he had more swimming practise. He told us he waited over 10 years to get into the Olympics where he won a gold medal. It was a great day.
