Year 2 became Elston Hall Press and reported on the disappearance of an animal from Dudley Zoo. We started the day by finding out all about our new topic “Internation Media Station”. During the morning we focused on understanding the term media. We spoke about how news was shared in the past and how this has changed today. Once we had this new knowledge it was time to become reporters. We spent time making our own ID badges to let everyone know we were official press for the day. We found out the school has received a message from Dudley Zoo about one of their animals escaping so of course we decided to investigate. We heard messages from lots of different staff around school and made notes to help us report the story. After we had all of our evidence from the witnesses it was time to create our news report ready to broadcast. It was an action packed day filled with lots of excitement! We’re hoping with our help, the animal will be safely located.
