Year 2 had a great day out at the BotanicalGardens in Birmingham. They all enjoyed exploring the grounds collecting different coloured leaves, twigs and petals so that they could create pictures using nature. Children worked together in groups and came up with some super designs including a cat, a tree, a spiral pattern and a tornado. Next up was a science session where children had the opportunity to dress up as scientists wearing lab coats and goggles. The experiments included gathering DNA from a strawberry to identifying liquids using the PH scale. It was a super day, topped off with a little play on the park. Even the rain couldn't dampen their day!
