Year 4 'lit-up their learning' this week, with our fabulous Lego Electricity workshop. With our visitor, Stephen, we discussed settlements and which Human and Physical features we would find in them. Using our Geography sticky knowledge, we then we created our own town buildings, using our creative skills. Working collaboratively, we then used roads to connect up our buildings to make our city! We added physical features like water, green spaces and plants and human features such as car parks, traffic lights and roundabouts. Once complete, we then used our Science skills to devise circuits using batteries, wires, switches and bulbs to create lights in our buildings. Then came our favourite moment - we turned off all the lights in the hall and our city glowed through the darkness. We also had chance to power an electrical Lego train, problem solving the circuitry to make it move forwards and backwards without touching it!
Our teachers are very proud of all our hard work and the answers we gave really showed the depth of our understanding in class. Thank you to Stephen for helping us apply our learning and making it come alive it such a amazing way.
